Trait of Atlas

Posted: 11th March 2010 by Timothy A. Rhoades in Thought Provoking

Standing by himself,
Holding another world,
Disregarding his needs,
His love now curled.

Standing all alone,
Inside his solemn fate,
Emotions well hidden,
No power left to hate.

Upon his weary shoulders,
The happy feet tread,
All completely unaware,
Of his impending dread.

Supporting all the weight,
Upon his solid blades,
Lonely in his world,
For an uncountable age.

He whispers to the darkness,
That lingers in this place,
Cradled in the silence,
Now devoured by this space.

The trait learned from him,
Is not his strength untold,
But something so much deeper,
Is the patience he has to hold.
